Happy Thanksgiving!

Cole came home from school one day last week as "Blue Deer Elk" (an Indian name he chose himself!). He had decorated a vest, drum and headress with feathers he earned at school. It was sooo cute. Then he and Macie sang "Turkey Dinner'' which was a Thanksgiving favorite at our house!
We had a very fun Thanksgiving with the Dean side of the family. We had dinner at our house and had the perfect group. We had Grandpa and Grandma Dean, Ryan, Derek, Britnie and Ellie and the four of us. Even Twizzler had a little feast of his own (he LOVED his Friskies Turkey and Gravy!). The food was delicious and we all ate too much of it! We ate and rested and ate and rested then watched Shrek and played a few rounds of Apples to Apples as we digested. Does it get any better?!?!

It's Fall Time!!

Cole and Macie "helped" Grandpa and Grandma Rich rake leaves in their yard recently. It was a big project because there was so much playing in between the raking! Cole kept saying "This is a blast" and Grandpa couldn't take pictures fast enough. There are plenty of action shots with just a blur of two bodies running and jumping. The highlight was burying Grandpa in the leaves and waiting anxiously for him to jump out, which was scary every time I'm sure!

Raking leaves brings back very fond memories. I remember going to my Grandpa Rich's house to rake leaves in the Fall. He has two GIANT weeping willows in his back yard and a lot of fruit trees in addition, so there were tons of leaves that needed to be raked up before the snow came. Rachel, Lesa and I would rake piles and jump in them because, let's be honest, who could resist jumping into a giant pile of leaves? Then we got a little more creative and would design floorplans for our our houses and line the leaves up accordingly. That was really fun too!!
