Little Dancers

Justin here. I LOVE to pump up the music while I am cleaning the house (Adrienne sadly does not). The kids decided to get their old Halloween costumes on and dance while I was mopping. Enjoy!

Is it Spring Yet????

Is anyone else ready to be done with winter? We are ready to get rid of the literal mountains of snow we have at our house!! Here is the evidence.....

The snow plow made a great climbing hill, depending on your perspective! Justin and I are taking bets on when it will melt (my money is on June!).

Cole is standing on the ground next to our tree to illustrate how high the snow is in that part of our yard. The wind blows drifts in our back yard and that is the biggest. I hope our skinny little tree survives!

Justin's commute home from work Wednesday night (the night of the awful storm last week) was a mere 5 hours. He was lucky to get into the driveway but had to stop halfway up. The next morning when we opened the garage (since our power had been restored thankfully) we were greeted with this -- HEAVY snow that had been blown into 4 foot drifts at the top of the driveway!! Pictures don't do it justice! And by the way, there is small tree buried in that drift!
Another attempt at capturing the true size of the drift! It was quite amazing, and the more amazing part of the story is that we have even been able to leave our house since. We eventually did dig out. Justin went to work and Cole went to school which was delayed a couple hours due to the storm.
YUCK!!! Too Much Snow! P.S. That thing sticking out of the snow on the right is a small part of our Christmas tree.

It's Too Quiet!

Have you ever had the eery feeling that things are just too quiet? You can't hear anyone jumping off their bed or down the stairs, fighting, crying, or running around screaming? Once it registers that you can't hear anything at all you probably start running around the house frantically. That's what I do anyway. I know that silence is not a good thing at all. It usually means that someone is about to get into big trouble and there is a big clean up involved!!

I do have to say that it wasn't as bad as the time Cole put my hot pink very sticky lipgloss all over himself and our cat, or when Macie got a hold of a giant candybar that I (the good mother that I am) forgot to put away and had melted, smeared chocolate all over her entire body and part of the dining room. These are two extreme examples.

Here is what happened the other day when I felt that sinking feeling after realizing how quiet things were. Macie and Cole had gotten our foam stickers down and removed most of their clothing in order to use as many stickers as possible. You can see from the pictures that they had matching elephants on their foreheads and stickers just about every where else, including the bottoms of their feet! Thank goodness they weren't completely naked. I can only imagine where stickers could have gone! Well, this really wasn't as disastrous as I imagined and they were so completely pleased with themselves that I had to get the camera out and document the creativity! Plus, they'll be great blackmail pictures when they're older :)

100 Day Celebration

Kids around here celebrate the 100th day of class, which in the Alpine School District is Jan 31st (and yes, I realize I am WAY behind on the blog!). They are assigned a project that should use 100 of something to make something, should be easy right?!?

Most people probably look forward to getting to use their creativity. Not me!! I am completely unimaginative and lose sleep over things like this. Thanks to the brainstorming of many people we came up with something. And Cole thought it was great which is what really counts, right?!?!
