Another Fun Party!

So we are total party animals!!! And if you know us you know how true that is ;) We got all dressed up and went to the annual Rich family Halloween party the other day and had a super spooky time!! Everyone's costumes were great, especially Zeus and "Harry's" (supposed to be Zeus and Hera, but to 3 year old Claire Harry made more sense!). We had some more spooky food, like skeleton jello and spider cupcakes. Macie's response to the cupcakes was "Oh My Gosh!" which means they were VERY impressive! We decided it was time to go when Justin's make up started to melt off his face. Who knew he wore make up!?!?!

Dean Family Halloween Party

Britnie and Derek throw a GREAT Halloween Party. The whole Dean gang gathered (minus Kirk who was hunting, and he got one by the way!) at the Robb's for the annual Dean Halloween Party. We played games like "Musical pumpkin" and "Team Mummy Wrapping" and ate delicious and very spooky food. Check out our very scary group, if you dare........

An Afternoon at Hee Haw Farms

In Pleasant Grove there is a fun little spot called Hee Haw Farms. Derek, Britnie and Ellie joined us to go on an animal tractor ride, see climbing goats, pick out a couple pumpkins and see the largest pig you have ever seen, Leroy. Leroy was very impressive!

Also, please note the Bajio hat Cole is wearing in the pictures. We ate lunch at the grand opening of the new Bajio near us. As part of the grand opening there were pinatas all over the restaurant and customers could pick one and redeem a prize (a water bottle, coupon or hat). We all picked our pinatas and took them to the prize table. Cole handed over his pinata number and the woman looked on her list and looked at Cole and said "you are the grand prize winner!" Cole was ecstatic even though he had absolutely no idea that he had won a free meal every week for a whole year at Bajio! The owner came out to meet him and they took his picture with the restaurant manager. It was total chaos and it was wonderful. However, I think Britnie was kicking herself for handing the winning pinata to Cole when we were choosing our pinatas!

Picnic in Little Cottonwood Canyon

So one weekend in September we decided to pack a peanut butter sandwich and head up the canyon for a picnic. We picked an overcast windy day and were a little early to see much in the way of fall leaves but it was still a blast. We like to go all the way up the canyon where there are some fun spots for climbing around on the rocks and enjoying the scenery!

Soccer Star!

Cole has just finished his 3rd season of soccer. He is quite the little soccer player! We all had a great time going to games, and let's be honest, the best part of playing soccer is the treat you get after the game!

My First Blog!

So this is the first and hopefully not the last blog (as well as my belated attempt at keeping a journal)!!

Justin, Cole, Macie and I live in Saratoga Springs and we LOVE it! It has just the right amount of rural feel (you know, horses, cows and quiet) with everything urban just a few more miles away.

Cole goes to kindergarten this year at an almost brand new school right up the road. He is a Harvest Elem. Hawk and he loves his teacher Mrs. Willson. He plays Tranformers with his friend Dallin at recess (and ocasionally their friend Sidney plays, she is the princess because every good game of Transformers needs one!).

Macie is 2 (and 1/2) and is talking like crazy. She is getting to be very good at expressing herself. Not only can she give the world's crustiest crusties, she can say things like "don't talk to me, Cole" and "I'm not listening" as she closes her eyes and moves her head back and forth. She is also the absolute sweetest little thing with cheeks you just can't resist kissing, that totally makes up for the crusties!

Justin is doing well. He has recovered nicely from his scary accident (almost a year and a half ago, wow!!). He was working at Fidelity until recently because his department is moving to Texas and we don't want to be Texans (although it would be fun if our kids had cute little Southern accents). So he is looking for a job and we are hopeful that a job will come sooner than later!!

I am plugging right along! I am very busy keeping up with Cole, Macie and Justin (and our cat Twizzler). I am still working part time, mostly from home, which is a real challenge but I am incredibly lucky to have such a great job for a great company and yes, I work with great people (and I am evidently very redundant!!).
